Fornalutx is a much-visited, highly photogenic village which dates back to the Middle Ages. Built on a steep hillside, its "streets" are a maze of stone steps, for pedestrians only, which lead upward from the village square. A variety of hotels, restaurants, bars, bakeries, and other businesses surround the beautiful plaça, where villagers and tourists alike enjoy a coffee or drink in stunning scenery.
Sitting here, you feel stress melting away, and cannot resist the attraction of the village, the valley, and the surrounding mountains. Even the tolling of the church bell -- every quarter-hour -- adds to the charm of what is, inarguably, an absolutely perfect scene.
